Art is Platos fifth element, "quintessence" or "aether", representing the cosmos as a whole.  Art is ever changing, and it unchanging.  It is intention and aesthetic.  Thought and emotion.  It is a familiar refrain in a song you haven’t heard before.  It is the answer to the questions that keep us awake at night.  It is an enigma – as we all are.  What is most personal is most universal.  We are all on this journey.

I think when we talk about Art, we need to move away from the idea that artists are just people who participate in the industry of creating and marketing paintings and that when we become ‘successful’ artists, we will hang our work behind glass in galleries for the esteemed people with correctly cultivated senses to purchase for their do not touch living rooms.  For me, art is tactile, organic and experiential.  Art is the celebration of the lives we live every day.  It tells the story of our quest for excellence, and it belongs to everyone
