About Us
Celebrating Independent Artistry
We are the South County Independent Arts Society and we are here to help!
Who are we? The we is you, me, and anyone who wants to passionately support the arts in the South San Francisco Bay Area.
Who are we helping? ARTISTS OF COURSE!
What kind of artists? ALL ARTISTS. This means all levels, all mediums, all backgrounds. This includes but is not limited to Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Culinary Arts, Textile Arts, and even the Arts that we don't have a name for yet. 2D? Yes. 3D? Yes Please. Interdimensional? Lets go. Welcome to our future. There will be snacks.
What are we here to help you do? We are here to kickstart your passion. We are here to meet other artists of all types and all levels who are on this crazy art journey with us. Find mentors and mentees, find inspiration and opportunities, find tips and tricks, share your talent, your stories and your projects. Swap art supplies and reading lists. Get the guidance and support that you need to make your Art Dream an Art Reality.
Can we really do that? BET ON IT!
What are we doing to make this happen? We are gathering monthly in local restaurants in Morgan Hill, California to discuss how we can make the local Art Community stronger, better and more dynamic and how we can create opportunities for ourselves and each other, through connection, education and support.
What are our goals? To provide a united and independent local artists community to advocate for Art and Artists in the South Bay Area for fair compensation, access to marketing opportunities, educationl resources and outreach to support artists during every stage of their journey.
What does "Independent" mean? Independent means that we are not under contract or exclusively represented by any entity and do not pay a fee to be a part of the orgnization. We are entirely self governed and participate as much, or as little as we choose, in the aspects or project areas that we choose.
